Clients are always asking how much something will cost…we do give flat rates and sometimes hourly rates, based upon each individual job – sometimes the wear and tear on our movers is of concern for larger items. We want to ensure everything you wish us to move gets done safely and quickly. Listed below are just a few of the moves we’ve done recently and the cost involved. Our hourly rates go anywhere from $40/hr for one guy unloading your truck with you to $170/hr for 4 guys and our own truck moving your 3 bedroom up 6 flights of stairs…so it really depends on what you want to move, how long it will take, how many poeple it takes to move the stuff, and how far we have to travel if using our own vehicle…
Thrift store Chelsea to Hell’s Kitchen – curbside
$45. This client did all the moving with a friend so I only needed to charge for transportation
$125/hr, ended up being 4 hours, $500 at the end. We had originally estimated this to be 5 hours. The client decided to tip $20 each guy anyway. If you google “tipping movers” you will find that people are encouraged to tip at least $5-$7+ per guy per hour…depending on how difficult the move is, flights of stairs, navigating tight hallways/stairwells, etc.
UES to UWS curbside service to move a couch
$55 because the client did all the moving themselves; driver helped load and unload the couch from the street level.
Ikea run to UWS
$70 – with a bit of help getting to their elevator on the UWS, otherwise the move was pretty simple – pick the client up from the loading dock and load a bunch of stuff into the truck, drive to UWS and dropoff
